About

At my house, we’re fans of referring to the days of the school week based upon our dinner choices: Make Ahead Monday, Taco Tuesday, Whatever Wednesday, Thrown Together Thursday, Fast Food Friday . . .  This inspired the name of my planned regular communication with bite sized information related to instructional technology – Food for Thought Friday.  I always look forward to dinner with these theme days and I thought my colleagues might look forward to my bite sized sharing once a weekI started sending out these Food for Thought Friday communications to my colleagues via email.  My awesome colleague, @DrHutchMHS, asked me if I was publishing them to a blog.  I thought, I have  a blog, but I’ve avoided it for a while (and by “a while” I mean not weeks, not months, but years), I have ideas to share, I need to reinvigorate my PLN . . . hence, the rebirth of my blog.  My goal is to encourage educators, to think about, and act upon, enhancing existing practices, activities, learning tasks, and assessments to promote collaboration, communication, critical thinking and creation – all essential skills for the world in which our children will grow and live.  Students need experiences communicating, collaborating thinking about and creating digital content to build understanding, demonstrate learning and innovate.  There are endless possibilities for digital tools that can be used, to embrace opportunities to redefine what we do in classrooms,  one activity or task at a time.  Through the meaningful use of digital tools, we can shift student learning experiences to prepare them with the skills and experiences they need in this rapidly changing world.
